Dear Chefs,
The early July heat wave is keeping us busy. We’re starting chores before sunrise, checking crops throughout the day, and making sure our staff spends plenty of time in the shade to stay cool! The hot weather is helping crops grow, but it also means keeping a close eye on soil moisture and plant health.
We’ve gotten small handfuls of all our hot crops – tomatoes, zucchini, peppers, and cucumbers. We expect harvests to pick up in the next week and all these favorite summer crops will be available to all!
This season we’ll be offering cherry tomatoes three ways – yellow cherry (sungold) pints, red cherry (sakura), and mixed pints of multicolored cherry tomatoes. They’re all delicious and each one is stunning in its own right!
Farming doesn’t take a holiday, but we’re grateful to have spent Independence Day doing what we love. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy the holiday with family and friends.
