As we head into the week before the summer solstice, the farm is soaking up every extra minute of daylight, and the farmers are too! The fields seem to change overnight this time of year, with crops (and weeds) putting on crazy growth and harvests becoming more prolific each week. The first flowers are appearing on several crops, attracting pollinators and signaling our transition from spring to summer production.
One crop that continues to stand out this season is our lettuce. Right now, many chefs are experiencing challenges in the broader lettuce market—from inconsistent quality due to climate factors, labor shortages, higher input costs, and increased freight rates. But our field-grown lettuce remains abundant, fresh, and reliable. We are proud to offer the consistency and quality that kitchens depend on, without the price volatility many are currently seeing from conventional suppliers.
With the longest day of the year coming up quickly, we are entering one of the most productive stretches of the growing season. We look forward to helping our chefs make the most of the season with dependable supply and incredible freshness straight from the farm.
